"Zerschossene Nächte" was recorded in winter 1984/85 for a crime movie by Ilona Baltrusch /dffb. Recordings were abandoned on second day due to a fallout between Baltrusch as the producer and the engineer and only two basis tracks were left over on a cassette tape. The funny story continues as these base tracks contained "shit lyrics" as a filler, which were penned by Shunt on the studios staircase from a then hip Kathy Acker book ("shit smears my face" etc..). These lyrics were taken as serious lyrics by Christoph Dreher of Die Haut and turned into a further distance of Shunt from Die Haut towards the final split. It wasnt until the early 90s that Shunt got back to sing something as "Boothill", but until then fell into a years long drug coma.
